Bonny Bryant Biography
Bonny Bryant is the General Manager of the Community & Protective Services Division.
Before working for the City of Regina, Bonny Bryant worked for the City of Lethbridge, where she held the position of Director, Corporate Initiatives since 2004. In that role, she was responsible for strategic planning, business planning, performance measures, process engineering, project management, policy development and analysis, change management and employee development. Her achievements in the position included working with the community by engaging them in a Community Vision exercise, and with Council to develop a strategic plan entitled “Working Together for Tomorrow”.
Bonny was born in Ottawa, Ontario and as the daughter of an officer in the Air Force, resided with her family in Germany for a number of years. When they returned to Canada, the Bryant family settled in Moose Jaw. Shortly after graduating from high school, Ms. Bryant returned to Ottawa, and in 1984 began her career in municipal government with the City of Ottawa.
Bonny has been employed in municipal government for over 23 years, 20 of those spent with the City of Ottawa and the former Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. She began her municipal career in various administrative roles and achieved many promotions over the years to more senior level positions. In 2001, she assumed the position of Chief of Staff and Manager, Corporate Programs and Strategic Initiatives for the City Manager.
Bonny has a diverse educational background including a Certificate in Public Service Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Carleton University, and a Masters in Public Administration from University of Western Ontario.
As the new General Manager of the Community & Protective Services, Bonny is committed to working with staff to contribute to the personal well-being and quality of life for the citizens of Regina.
