Brent Sjoberg Biography
Brent Sjoberg joined the City of Regina in 2007 after a 16-year career with DirectWest in senior level positions including Chief Financial Officer, VP – Corporate Development and subsidiary President. His current position is Chief Operating Officer & Deputy City Manager, his responsibilities include leading the Corporate Services Division: Finance, IT Services, and Human Resources, as well as Corporate Fleet and Facilities operations.
Brent was born in Moose Jaw. He holds an Accounting Diploma from SIAST, his CMA designation, and an MBA from the University of Regina. Brent has been active in the Regina community, and is currently a board member of the United Way of Regina, and the Regina Casual Employees and Elected Officials Pension Plan.
In addition to his duties as Deputy City Manager & CFO, Mr. Sjoberg has most recently assumed the role of Executive Lead for the Regina Revitalization Initiative. In this role, his focus will be to lead the planning and implementation of the largest in-fill development project that the City has ever undertaken. While developing a plan to replace Mosaic Stadium, the project will also involve the development of new mixed-use neighbourhoods connecting the Warehouse District to Downtown and renewing City lands that currently surround Mosaic Stadium.
Brent and his wife April, with the help of their children Courtney and Ethan, recently opened a new business in Regina: Clancy’s Meat Co. The Sjobergs are a true ‘I Love Regina’ family and enjoy promoting and actively contributing to Regina’s success.
