Regina Fire & Protective Services is regulated by the

Fire Prevention Act, 1992

and the

Fire Bylaw 2005-18.

The City of Regina bylaw is based upon the

Fire Prevention Act.

Regina Fire Bylaw 2005-18 Fire Bylaw No. 2005-18  details regulations of smoke alarms, fireworks, open flames, open air fires, vacant and fire damaged buildings, street number addresses and maximum number of people allowed in a given area, as well as a minimum number of exit doors within a building.

On May 25, 2010, City Council approved bylaw changes that introduce new regulations for the use of outdoor fire pits and fines associated with non-compliance.  An updated Bylaw will be posted when it becomes available but new regulations are available here.

Fire Prevention Act, 1992 This Government of Saskatchewan act provides standard business practices and policies for various matters in a fire department such as personnel responsibilities, procedures for fire investigation, as well as set penalties and fees.
