Fire Education for Families
In addition to planning and practicing your fire escape plan and installing smoke alarms, you can teach your children fire safety through the following programs.
Community event programs
Regina Fire & Protective Servicves participates in many events throughout the community to promote fire safety and emergency preparedness. Take your children to see Fire & Protective Services at any of the following community events:
- Fire Prevention Week
- Parades
- Teddy Bear Bash
- Wise Rider Days
- Career fairs
- Rider games
- Queen City Marathon
- Athletic events
Station tours
With fire stations located throughout the city, you may wish arrange for your family to visit your neighbourhood fire hall to learn the duties of a firefighter, learn about fire safety, as well as see a fire truck and other fire safety equipment.

Youthful Firesetter Intervention Program
While curiosity about fires can be part of normal childhood experience; unsupervised fire setting and/or playing with matches and lighters is not.
Regina Fire & Protective Services provides a structured assessment and intervention for children and guardians concerned about this dangerous behaviour through its Youthful Firesetter Intervention Program. For more information, call 306-777-7714.
