Princess Elizabeth first visited Regina in 1951 with her husband Prince Philip. She came back to the Queen City in 1959, this time in her first official visit as Queen Elizabeth II.
Royals have always had a special relationship with Regina, ever since Princess Louise, the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria, named the town in her mother’s honour in 1882.
