Regina Affordable Sustainable Housing Charrette
In 2003, the City of Regina and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) hosted the Regina Affordable Sustainable Housing charrette.
A charrette is a specialized workshop that is held over several days to solicit ideas from local residents, organizations and levels of government to design and explore opportunities involving certain topics.
The 2003 design charrette explored and received suggestions concerning affordable sustainable housing development at a vacant school site located in Regina’s inner city.
The 35 individuals who attended the charrette also help create design strategies that could reduce operating costs for this project while providing comfortable housing that protects the health of its occupants and the environment.
