Residential Parking Permits

If you live on a street where there are parking limits of 1 or 2 hours, you can purchase a residential parking permit that will allow you to park longer than the limit shown.

You can purchase your permit at Customer Services located on the Main Floor of City Hall weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Permits are valid from April 1 of the current year to March 31 of the next year. You must provide identification, including proof of residency and valid vehicle registration, at time of purchase.

There are 3 types of parking permits:

  • Residential Parking Permit If the street in front of your home has a parking limit of 1 or 2 hours, you can purchase a residential parking permit for each of your vehicles, which will allow you to park on your street for up to 24 hours. Cost: $15/vehicle/permit, plus GST
  • Visitor Parking Permits You can purchase up to 2 visitor parking permits that guests can use to park on the block in front of your home for up to 24 hours. Visitor parking permits cannot be purchased if you live in the Taylor Field area or live in a multi-family dwelling. Cost: $5/permit (plus GST) if purchased at the same time as residential parking permit. $15/permit (plus GST) if permit is purchased separately
  • Taylor Field Area Parking Permit If you live in the Taylor Field area, you can get a Taylor Field parking permit that will allow you to park on the street in front of your home during Taylor Field events. Cost: Free
