Cleaning City Streets
Spring Cleaning
Each spring, the City of Regina cleans local streets of sand, gravel and dust that accumulated over the winter months. Crews start by cleaning the boulevards in the middle of the streets. Then they will sweep the main streets and the downtown area before moving on to the subdivisions.
During the street sweeping, parking will be restricted so our crews can get to the curbs and parking lanes. Watch for the no-parking signs and be sure to obey them.
Parking in a no-parking zone means that your vehicle could be ticketed $100 and towed.
Help make Regina beautiful for the spring and summer months by watching for the no-parking signs. When you move your vehicle so our crews can sweep, you are also helping to preserve our streets. Did you know that removing the winter salt lengthens the lifespan of our streets?

Help us help you
To help us help you ensure your neighbourhood streets receive a clean sweep, please find off-street parking when cleaning crews are in your area. You will be notified about 24-48 hours before crews arrive to remove your vehicles by either: Large portable signs at major entrance points to neighbourhoods.
OR
Individual street signs, placed along roadways that are heavily used for parking (e.g., around the General Hospital, Transition area, Cathedral area). If your vehicle is parked on these streets when cleaning takes place, your vehicle may be ticketed and towed.
When crews arrive in your area to clean, ensure you are driving a safe distance away from street sweeping equipment since visibility will be reduced because of dust and flying debris.
It is also a good idea to keep children away from roads until crews are finished cleaning your area.
Fall leaf pick up
This fall, the city crews will clean local streets of leaves. Crews will concentrate on areas with lots of trees.
During the leaf pick up, parking will be restricted so our crews can get to the curbs and parking lanes. Watch for the no-parking signs and be sure to obey them. Parking in a no-parking zone means that your vehicle could be ticketed $100 and towed.
