North and South Lewvan Drive
Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, June 6, two major Street Infrastructure Renewal projects begin along north and south Lewvan Drive to renew the roadway surface. These projects will improve drainage, extend the lifecycle of the road and create a smoother driving experience. The total investment of both construction projects is about $1.5 million.
North Lewvan Drive - Sherwood Drive to 1st Avenue North
This project includes milling and paving both sides of the road. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the opposite lanes at all times. This project is expected to take two weeks to complete, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances.
South Lewvan Drive - Regina Avenue to Parliament Avenue
This project will be completed in two phases as follows:
- Phase 1: Concrete work will take place to relocate the turning bay into the Regina Airport to improve driver safety and traffic flow.
- Northbound Lewvan traffic cannot turn left into the airport at Regina Avenue. Alternate access to the airport is detoured to 13th Avenue and Sandra Schmirler Way. Watch for signs.
- Southbound Lewvan Drive access into the airport will be maintained.
- This phase is anticipated to take up to two weeks to complete, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances.
- Phase 2: Later in June, paving work will take place in the southbound lanes to resurface the road.
- Two-way traffic will be maintained in the northbound lane at all times.
- This phase is anticipated to take up to two weeks to complete, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances.
The City of Regina will advise residents of restrictions as the work progresses. The City thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you. Visit the Road Report for traffic restrictions.
