Statement from Mayor Sandra Masters on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
This year, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II becomes the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of dedicated service to the people of the Commonwealth.
Across Canada and around the world The Queen is seen by many as a steadfast symbol of dedicated leadership through times of both uncertainty and stability. The Platinum Jubilee provides us with an opportunity to commemorate Her Majesty’s historic reign and to recognize all that she has been able to accomplish.
On behalf of City Council and the City of Regina, I wish to thank Her Majesty for the genuine warmth she has shown our city over the course of her reign and would like to congratulate her on an unprecedented 70 years as Monarch. – Mayor Sandra Masters
