I Love Regina Day

 

Features of this year’s event include a FREE barbeque, with burgers and refreshments from M&M Burgers, live entertainment, children’s activities including Dinobouncers and face painting by Street Culture Project, giveaways, prize draws and much more!

RPS, St. John’s Ambulance and city staff will be on site as well as many City of Regina volunteers for your safety and to assist you during the event.

Bring your camera and a picnic blanket to enjoy the festivities- fun for the whole family!

Please note:  Pets will be allowed on site provided they are on a leash at all times, and the owners pick up after the pets.

A very special guest from the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Gainer, will be on site from 2 - 3 p.m. Other community mascots who will be on site for photo opportunities and hi-fives or hugs include Buckles from the Red Cross, Rainbow Bear from Rainbow Cinemas, Sleep Bear from the Travelodge Hotel and Digger from Wascana Park!

Vitamin Water will be on site giving away free water!In the case of poor weather, information on the activities occurring or in the event of a cancellation will be posted on Regina.ca. Also, visit our City of Regina Facebook page for more updates.

The Saskatchewan Science Centre will have two exhibits on site featuring Biodiversity Games about food webs and biodiversity, as well as have other promotional materials from the Science Centre on site. There will also be handout activities for children to take home.

Regina Transit will be on site to showcase a 1954 GM diesel bus being used for special events as Transit celebrates its centennial in 2011. Starting with a handful of girls skating around a multipurpose room, it has now grown to a league with approximately 80 members skating in front of audiences of 700+. PBDC is comprised of two house teams - Bone City Beaver Dames and Lockdown Lolitas - and members train up to three times a week on average, focusing on the endurance, speed, agility, and strength needed to play today’s hard-hitting, action-packed roller derby. PBDC's female athletes come from all different backgrounds and occupations. They work hard at their day jobs and even harder to promote their sport, improve their game, and contribute to their local communities. Everyone is welcome to join in the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Rick Hansen Relay! Beginning on August 24th, 2011 in Cape Spear, Newfoundland, the relay will retrace the Canadian segment of the original Man in Motion tour as Rick Hansen wheeled his way across Canada to raise money for people with spinal cord injuries. However, this time it’s different! The tour and will be coming through Regina on February 6th to the 9th, 2012 and we are choosing participants from across Canada who have made their own difference in the lives of others. These individuals will pass the singular Rick Hansen Medal to each other as it weaves its way across the country. The Rick Hansen Medal is not only a symbol of Rick’s inspiring story of courage and determination, but it also represents the potential in us all to make a difference in our communities, our country and our world. Rotaract is a service organization aimed towards 18 to 30 year olds who are passionate about helping out communities, both locally and internationally.  Founded in August 2009, we currently have twelve members. Although the club is small and still learning, the enthusiasm produced by the members is amazing and inspirational.  Our motto is “Service Above Self” and with that thought always in our minds, we reach to help in every way we can.  We have fun activities planned for kids so stop by to learn a little more of our club, what we have done, and how you can make a difference too!
