Christmas tree drop-off depots close this weekend - Treecycle!

January 25, 2012

This is the last weekend to treecycle your old Christmas tree by taking it to one of five drop-off locations located throughout the city. Last year the City collected about 1123 trees, so far this year over 1800 trees have been collected at the depots. The trees will be turned into mulch and offered to residents in the spring.

The following locations will be open 24 hours a day until January 29:

  • Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre - 3130 East Woodhams Drive
  • Optimist Arena - 222 Sunset Drive
  • Joanne Goulet Golf Club - 8045 Kestal Drive
  • City of Regina Container Shop - 500 Arcola Avenue.

The City of Regina Landfill is accepting Christmas trees during normal landfill hours. There is no charge to take your tree to the landfill; this applies to Christmas trees only. The landfill is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays.
