City of Regina shares contingent plan if Canada Post strikes
With a potential Canada Post strike set for Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m., the City of Regina has developed a plan to help direct the public on how to make payments for water bills, parking tickets and property taxes. If there is a Canada Post strike, the City of Regina encourages you to use any of these alternative payment options:
· Property taxes
- Pay property taxes at your banking institution
- Pay through online banking
- Pay in-person at City Hall Customer Service (main floor), 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Drop off cheque in the night deposit outside the front of City Hall (east side of building)
- Drop off cheque at the City Hall drive-up kiosk from June 28-30
· Parking tickets
- Pay for parking tickets at Regina.ca and follow the link from the home page
- Pay in-person at City Hall Customer Service (main floor), 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Drop off cheque in the night deposit outside the front of City Hall (east side of building)
· Utility billing
- Pay utility bills at your banking institution
- Pay through online banking and telephone banking
- Pay in-person at City Hall Customer Service (main floor), 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Drop off cheque in the night deposit outside the front of City Hall (east side of building)
- Refer to prior month's bill as a reference for amount and due date
The City is currently conducting business as usual. We will continue to monitor the Canada Post situation and set up other necessary measures that we will communicate to you if there is a postal strike. The City commits to deliver the best possible customer service to citizens during this circumstance.
In the event of a postal strike, any changes to regular services will be announced on Regina.ca and through the media. The public can also call 777-7000 for inquiries about bills. If you use budget billing to pay utility bills, your regular payment will be deducted as usual from your account as before the strike.
