With classes winding down at the University of Regina for summer recess, some temporary changes are coming to the extra bus service added for the Universal Bus Pass program at the university.

Extra service added for the U-Pass program is being reduced starting May 1. Service levels will return on August 21 when classes get underway.

Routes impacted by schedule changes are:
Route 3: University/Sherwood Estates – adjustment of one trip in the afternoon
Route 4: Hillsdale/Walsh Acres – adjustment of trips in the morning and afternoon
Route 18: Harbour Landing/University – removal of one late-night trip from the University
Route 21: Glencairn/University – service will only run during peak periods
(7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Route 22: Arcola East/University – service will only run during peak periods
(7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Route 30: University Express/ Rochdale Express –30-minute service all day

The U-Pass program was introduced at the University of Regina in September 2016 along with extra bus service including the addition of a new route, Route 22. The extra service resulted in increasing Transit ridership by 78 per cent among post-secondary students in the first four months of the program. The successful program will continue again in the fall.
