Help Guide To Search For Your Property
You can view a property's assessment and taxation record by:
- Address or account number
- Assessed value
- Using the interactive map
You can also view a list of property sales from your valuation neighbourhood from your assessment record.
Search by Address or Account Number:
Select the "Property Search" house icon or the "Property Search" link under the Information Centre.
- Using your mouse, choose the "Street Address/Account Number" link.

- Searching By Address 1. Enter the number of the building in the first field. NOTE: If no building number is entered, all properties located on this street, road, crescent, etc. will appear once you hit the search button. 2. Enter ONLY the street name in the second field. Do not type in the word or abbreviation for street, road, crescent, drive, etc. If your street name is a number (e.g. 7th Avenue), enter the number in this field (e.g. 7) 3. If required, enter the number of the suite in the last field. 4. Click on the Search button to call up the property's assessment and taxation record.

Searching By Account Number 1. Type in your account number in the Account Number field. This number is found on your tax notice or your Notice of Assessment 2. Click on the search button to call up the property's assessment and taxation record.
- Follow the steps listed under #2 to view other assessment and taxation records.
- Select the "View Property Map" button on the assessment and taxation record to see the property's location on an interactive map. After viewing the map, you can return to the assessment and taxation record by clicking on the property's address on the map, selecting the information button (letter "i" in black circle), and then clicking on the property address on the right-hand side of the screen.
Search by Assessed Value:
- Click on the "Property Search" house icon (left-hand side) or the "Property Search" link under the Information Centre.
- Choose the Property Assessed Value link and select which property class you wish to view (commercial, multiple family residential, residential or condominium).
- a. For residential properties, view the City map and click on the shaded neighbourhood where your property is located. This will automatically fill the Valuation Neighbourhood Field. b. For commercial, condominium, or multiple-family residential properties, scroll through the first drop-down menu to choose the property type that you are searching.
- Scroll through the next drop-down menu to choose the value range closest to the fair value assessment of the property.
- Click on the search button to call up a list of properties which match the characteristics you have chosen.
- Click on an address to call up the assessment and taxation record for that property. Properties are sorted by value.
- Repeat to view other assessment and taxation records.
Search using the interactive map:
- Click on the "Property Search" house icon or the "Property Search" link under the Information Centre.
- Select the "Map" link.
- An interactive GIS map will appear on your screen. Hold your left mouse button down and drag your mouse across the map to select an area to search (area will be highlighted by red box.) This action will cause the map to zoom in. Repeat until the desired property is shown on map.
- Once the desired property is shown, select the information button (letter "i" in black circle) at the bottom of the map. The address of the property and its account number will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.
- Click on the property address on the right-hand side of your screen to view that property's assessment and taxation record. You can return to the map from the assessment and taxation record by selecting the "View Property Map" button.
- To learn more about the features available on the GIS interactive map, click on the words "Map Help" at the bottom of the map.
Search using list of sales:
- Call up your property's online assessment and taxation record.
- Scroll down the screen and click on the "View Statistics/Sales" button (found below your assessed values.)
- A new screen will appear listing the City-wide, market area, and valuation neighbourhood sale statistics. You can compare the information found on your assessment and taxation record to the statistics shown on this page.
- Click on the "View Sales" button at the bottom of this page to view a list of the sales in your valuation neighbourhood that were used in calculating your property's assessment.
- You can select any address to view its assessment and taxation record and compare it to your own property.
