Deck
You will need to obtain a building permit to build at deck on your home, if the deck is over 30 cm high or bigger than 3 square metres.
Regardless of size or height, you must ensure your proposed deck does not encroach upon any easements registered against your property. To identify easements, contact Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan (sometimes referred to as Land Titles Office.)
To apply:
- You will need to submit the following information with your completed building permit application :
- 2 copies of the site plan drawn to scale with metric dimensions and the legal description of the property. The site plan must show all measurements, including property line and existing buildings.
- 2 copies of the cross-section plan drawn to scale with metric dimensions. The plan will show the side view of the deck and indicate all materials you will use to construct the deck.
- 1 copy of a plan showing beam and support location, drawn to scale with metric dimensions.
