The Public Notice Policy Bylaw No. 2003-8 was established to set out minimum notice requirements and the methods of notice to be followed. Pursuant to The Cities Act, this bylaw applies to all matters to be heard by City Council that are legislated to have public notice.

Overview:

  • The minimum prescribed notice shall be seven days notice prior to the Council meeting by publication in a local newspaper, posting on the City’s website and posting on the public notice board at City Hall.
  • Public notice shall not be required for subsequent meetings, unless otherwise directed by Council.
