Volunteer Programs

Bylaw Enforcement works with community associations and groups in the following 5 inner-city neighbourhoods so residents can address some bylaw problems on their own:

• Al Ritchie
• Core
• North Central
• Eastview
• Cathedral

Volunteers are trained and receive a Community Improvement Inspection Handbook and forms to help them with their volunteer inspection patrols. Area residents and block captains are provided with information on bylaws. These volunteers inspect their own neighbourhoods, talk to people about unkempt property or other bylaw infractions, or if that fails, report the problems to the City inspectors.
