Councillor Louis Browne is sitting for his second term as a member of Regina City Council, representing the residents of Ward 1. During his first term, he initiated the comprehensive road repairs strategy, the Silver Cross Memorial Park, and the Regina Pats First Nations celebration game, among others.
He is a lawyer with the firm McCrank Stewart LLP, where he is a Federal Crown prosecutor (Agent), and obtained both his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in cultural anthropology and his Bachelor of Laws (Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. He was in the Canadian infantry and worked with the Ranch Ehrlo Society prior to attending law school.
Councillor Browne married his high school sweetheart, Susan, and they have two children.
He is or has been a member in a number of community organizations including Rotary International; Royal Canadian Legion; Saskatchewan Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs; L’Association Communautaire Fransaskoise; Amnesty International; Canadian Civil Liberties Association and Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.
