1. Private Vehicle Rate
- All small private vehicles (cars, ¼ ton, ½ ton and ¾ ton vehicles including vehicles with trailers not larger than 4 feet by 8 feet) with no commercial markings, disposing of household waste from their own residence, will pay the private vehicle rate.
- All private vehicles with trailers larger than 4 feet by 8 feet will pay a charge of $65.00/tonne.
2. Refrigerant Removal
- There will be a charge of $10.00/item for recovery/disposal of residential items containing CFCs/refrigerants (examples of this include refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers). This charge is in addition to the private vehicle rate.
- Charges will be applied whether refrigerant has been removed or not (unless proof that a qualified professional has already removed the refrigerant is produced).
- This service is available to residential loads only. Commercial quantities of refrigerant containing items will not be accepted.
- Large commercial appliances (e.g. industrial sized freezers) will not be accepted.
- Another option for recycling your old refrigerator is to use SaskPower's refrigerator recycling program.
3. Asphalt Shingles
- All loads containing asphalt shingles including private vehicles are charged by weight. The load is considered to be clean shingles only if there is no metal flashing, wood debris and the amount of tar paper is minimized. Nails do not need to be removed. Asphalt shingle loads containing any other type of refuse will be charged at $65.00/tonne. All shingle loads require a $60.00 deposit at the scale prior to disposal and the vehicle must be re-weighed empty and the outstanding balance is then paid prior to leaving the landfill.
Please ensure the garbage you are taking to the landfill is properly secured and tarped or you may be fined.
