Public Consultation

Public consultation is a key component of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. For the past year, the City of Regina has consulted with a number of stakeholders and citizens regarding the EIA required under the Saskatchewan Environmental Assessment Act for the expansion of the Fleet Street Sanitary Municipal Landfill.

An open house and workshop were held in March 2008 to discuss potential issues with interested stakeholders. In November 2008, a second open house and workshop was held to present and discuss the draft findings of the EIA. 

Thank you to the residents who participated with this important project. Issues and suggestions expressed will be addressed in the EIA, which will be finalized in the next few months. Check back for regular updates on future consultation on the progress of the various stages of the project.
