How to use your garbage cart
Most residents who switch to rollout carts in 2012 and 2013 will receive garbage collection in the back alley. All residents who are changing from shared back alley garbage bins to individual rollout carts will be notified on whether to place their carts in the alley or on the front street. Please follow these instructions on how to place your cart for garbage collection.

Your responsibilities
- Bag all garbage before placing it in the cart.
- Keep the lid closed. Do not let your cart overflow, and do not place additional waste beside your cart.
- Store your cart in a secure location on your property.
- Roll the cart out before 7:30 a.m. on your collection day, and store it back on your property by 7 p.m..
- Periodically rinse out your cart with a hose.
- It is your responsibility to look after your cart. While your cart has been assigned to your address, it belongs to the City of Regina. If you move, the cart must be left for the next homeowner.
- It's a good idea to record your cart's serial number for your records.
- If your cart gets damaged or goes missing, call 777-7000.
Do not place excess garbage beside your cart as it will NOT be picked up. If you have excess garbage, you can:
- Store it so it can be picked up during the next collection period.
- Recycle any items such as paper, cans, unused paint or glass.
- Dispose of your garbage at the City of Regina landfill.
- Reduce your waste.
