Following the horticultural policies, practices and bylaws established by the City of Regina, Parks & Open Space Department (POSD) cares for all public open spaces including:
- parks
- golf courses
- cemeteries
- athletic fields
- outdoor ice
- walkways
- utility parcels
- road allowances, centre medians, side boulevards and traffic islands
- storm channels, storm water retention ponds and floodplains
- joint-use schools
- buffers
As part of its maintenance activities, POSD oversees turf care, irrigation, weed control, pest monitoring/control, tree planting, aerial and ground tree pruning as well as flower and shrub bed maintenance as described in the City’s horticultural policies and bylaws.
