Civic Pension Update
Pension Changes Approved
City Council at its October 26, 2015 meeting approved the changes to the Regina Civic Pension Plan and authorized the necessary bylaws be updated to allow for the Pension Plan changes to take effect on January 1, 2016.
This decision is the culmination of several years of work involving the City Administration, the Civic Pension and Benefits Committee, the Pension Administrative Board, the Pensions and Disability Administration staff, the actuary and the other employers in the Regina Civic Employees’ Superannuation and Benefit Plan.
All employer and employee groups have worked very hard to create a Pension Plan that is sustainable into the future, protects the pensions of retirees, provides a secure predictable pension for existing employees and is affordable to taxpayers.
