What is PlayEscapes?
PlayEscapes is a FREE and inclusive summer drop-in program offered by the City of Regina. The program offers leader-facilitated play opportunities that develop and foster life skills, creativity, imagination, positive self-image and promote a physically active lifestyle. Self-directed play is the key to the PlayEscapes program. Children engage in play they select by themselves and are encouraged to explore and discover activities they enjoy.
The City of Regina partners with Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger (REACH) to offer a lunch program at some of the sites. Please call 306-777-7146 to find out which site is closest to you.
Who can attend? PlayEscapes is for all children entering Kindergarten (must be 5 years old by December 31, 2016) through Grade 7. PlayEscapes welcomes children and youth of all abilities. Participants who may need assistance during the program are asked to bring an attendant.
When will it take place? The program will run Monday - Friday, July 4 to August 12. There will be no program on Monday, August 1.
What time will the program run? Program hours are 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please note: Some locations will operate in the mornings or afternoons only. There is no supervision over the lunch hour. All children are required to be picked up at that time.
How to register? Participant Information Forms are available on site the first day of the program. Parents are advised to visit the sites closest to them and fill out the forms on July 4.

Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre Outdoor Site
This summer, we are excited to be offering an outdoor-only site at the Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre where your kids can enjoy plenty of sun, fun and splash! As this is an outdoor-only site, we want to ensure your children are prepared for the summer conditions. Please make sure you send your child with a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and a snack (optional - nut free only). We will be providing a source of shade for the children and will have some extra sunscreen, bug spray and water on hand to ensure the children are properly hydrated throughout the day. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the program coordinator at 306-777-7146.
In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, please check below to confirm the site status. The status of each site will be updated by 8 a.m. each morning.
