Becoming Canada's best run municipality

The City of Regina has developed a plan to become Canada's best run municipality by 2012. Becoming the best run municipality means being high performing, customer focused and having employees that are engaged in our organization and our business.

We've developed a corporate strategic plan to identify the road map to become ‘Best Run’.

Here are just a few of the milestones we've begun or completed that bring us closer to our goal for 2012.

High Performing

  • Develop a Vision for the City of Regina (complete)
  • Begin planning together as a corporation, with a corporate strategic plan and workplace business plans (ongoing)
  • Measure our corporate performance and progress through to 2012 (ongoing)

Customer Focused

  • Restructure the City divisions, putting like with like, to make it easier for our customers to find and access services (complete)
  • Roll out a customer service strategy for the organization (ongoing)

Engaged Employees

  • Recognize employees through the Rewards & Recognition Program (launched)
  • Regularly gather employee feedback to inform corporate planning through the Employee Survey (2009 complete)
