Reuse
Many items can be re-used again instead of being thrown out:
- Hold a garage sale so others can purchase the items they need while you make some cash!
- Reuse plastic grocery bags the next time you go shopping or use the bags as lunch bags or garbage bags.
- Donate building material, such as lumber, doors, bricks or windows to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
- Donate plastic grocery bags to your local library as book bags for other patrons.
- Store leftover food in plastic margarine or sour cream containers.
- Make children’s crafts out of old newspapers, toilet rolls, yarn, etc.
- Give gently-worn items and unwanted household items to a charity or second-hand store.
- Have damaged or worn footwear repaired at a cobbler.
- Donate last month’s magazines to the Regina Area Girl Guides “Second Glance” program which distributes your magazines so others can read them.
