Rechargeable battery recycling (Grades 8-12)

- Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) 40 mins.
Objectives:
- To introduce highlights from the RBRC program and basic concepts.

Methods/Strategies:
- Set: 5 mins. Introduce basic concepts of the RBRC program. Define terms and basic principles of the RBRC.

- Ask for anecdotes from students (what do you do with your cell phone batteries, what happens when batteries are put into the landfill.)
- Development: Talk about the information that is communicated in the presentation.

- 15 mins. Discuss the RBRC program, interaction and feedback. Students can investigate the reasons behind RBRC, what happens to the batteries, who is Guy Lafleur.
- Closure: 5-10 mins. Review RBRC program concepts and refer to the information that is available.
