Health Region Response to a Pandemic
Like other Saskatchewan health regions, the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region is responsible for planning the local response to a pandemic according to provincial and national guidelines.
The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is planning health services delivery during an epidemic. They will be responsible for developing triage systems and creating detailed plans to reallocate resources or reduce non-essential services during a pandemic. Also, the Region is working with local partners (e.g., emergency responders, mortuary services) now before the pandemic arrives to ensure a coordinated response when it strikes.
The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is assisting other organizations develop their pandemic planning, including:
- health care professionals
- non-government organizations
- business sector
