Waste Reduction Innovation Challenge
Introduction
Welcome to the City of Regina’s Waste Reduction Innovation Challenge! This friendly competition invites classrooms from Grades 6, 7, & 8 to participate in our Waste Reduction Innovation Challenge. The challenge is to come up with innovative solutions to make our city more sustainable and reduce waste. Our team of waste diversion specialists will visit your school during waste reduction week (October 16 - 20) or the following week (October 23-27), to watch your presentations! The most innovative ideas will have a chance to win City of Regina leisure passes for the entire class!
Objective
The main objective of this project is to encourage students to think critically and creatively about waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability. Participants will collaborate as a class to develop practical and innovative ideas that could be implemented at a local level to promote waste reduction during Waste Reduction Week.
