15th Avenue Sewer Relining Progresses
Starting on Friday, July 5, drivers may want to consider alternate routes as crews prepare for the next section of work.
• To reduce the impact to drivers, 15th Avenue will be restricted to one westbound lane between Broad Street and Smith Street.
• The 2300 blocks of Smith, Lorne, Cornwall, Scarth, Hamilton and Rose streets willhave no access to 15th Avenue from the south. These streets will be converted to two-way traffic during this phase. The 2300 block is between College Avenue and 15th Avenue.
These restrictions are expected to be in place for approximately three weeks.
The 15th Avenue sewer line provides wastewater services to approximately 50,000 downtown and east Regina residents. Through this major project, the City of Regina is rehabilitating the sewer pipe by sealing a new liner inside the current sewer main. Work is being done 24 hours a day to complete the project quickly to reduce impact on residents.
Once complete, the sewer pipe will be ready for service for another 50+ years. Future traffic restrictions will be communicated as work progresses.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
