1st Ave North - 7th Ave North to McCarthy Blvd
Starting Monday, June 10, a rehabilitation project begins on 1st Avenue North between 7th Avenue North and McCarthy Boulevard. This project will improve pedestrian safety and drivability, as well as replace aging infrastructure. Work will be complete in phases and includes replacement and repairs of sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, curbs and gutters, followed by paving.
Full road closures will be required for concrete work along 1st Avenue North in two sections:
- Section 1 - McCarthy Boulevard to Bastedo Crescent/Batoche Street
- Section 2 - Bastedo Crescent/Batoche Street to 7th Avenue North
The concrete phase is expected to be complete in six weeks, depending on weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Traffic will be detoured. Watch for signage.
In August, a full closure will be required for the paving phase following the concrete work and is expected to take one week to complete. The City will post an advisory about this closure at a later date.
Transit routes may be affected. Riders are encouraged to check with Regina Transit for bus stop and route changes.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
