4th Avenue – Queen Street to Garnet Street
Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, May 23, a Street Infrastructure Renewal project begins along 4th Avenue between Queen Street and Garnet Street to replace sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, curbs and gutters, as well as renew the roadway surface. This project will improve drainage, extend the lifecycle of the infrastructure and create a smoother driving experience.
Work will be completed in two phases starting with the concrete replacement for phase one, followed by resurfacing of the road for phase two. The City will advise residents of phase two restrictions as the work progresses.
Phase one is anticipated to be completed in three months, weather dependent. Drivers may want to consider alternate routes as traffic on 4th Avenue will be closed in two to three block sections at a time. Crews will begin at Queen Street and progress east to Garnet Street.
Transit routes may be affected. Riders are encouraged to check with Regina Transit for bus stop and route changes.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you. Visit the Road Report for other traffic restrictions.
