Arcola Avenue – University Park Drive to Edinburgh Drive/Doan Crescent
Starting Thursday, August 27, crews will pave the Arcola Avenue bridge over the Pilot Butte Creek between University Park Drive and Edinburgh Drive/Doan Crescent.
To reduce impact to drivers, this project will be completed using a combination of night and off-peak hours work. In addition, as this location is not residential, construction noise through the night is not anticipated to be a concern. Two-way traffic will always be maintained:
- Between 3 and 7 a.m., crews will remove the asphalt surface from one direction of traffic.
- Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., the road will open to traffic. Drivers will notice the road surface will be rough, however it is safe for vehicle traffic.
- At 7 p.m., crews will return to pave the road and allow the asphalt to cure before opening it for morning traffic at 3 a.m.
Crews will begin working in the eastbound lanes of Arcola Avenue between University Park Drive to Edinburgh Drive. On Friday, August 28, work will take place in the westbound lanes of Arcola Avenue between Doan Drive and University Park Drive.
This restriction will be in place for two days, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
The health and safety of our employees, crews and community are top priority for the City of Regina. We are working closely with contractors and crews to ensure pandemic protocols are in place so work can be carried out in a safe and timely fashion.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
