Arens Road – Prince of Wales to Parkland Drive
Starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 16, a Street Infrastructure Renewal project begins along Arens Road between Prince of Wales and Parkland Drive to replace sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, curbs and gutters, as well as resurface the roadway. This project will improve drainage, extend the lifecycle of the infrastructure and create a smoother driving experience.
Work will be completed in two phases starting with the concrete replacement for phase one, followed by removal and paving of the asphalt road surface for phase two. The City will advise residents of phase two restrictions as the work progresses.
Phase one is anticipated to be completed in five weeks. Drivers may want to consider alternate routes as traffic on Arens Road will be restricted in both directions in one to two block sections at a time. Crews will begin working at Prince of Wales and progress towards Parkland Drive.
This project is weather dependent.
Transit routes may be affected. Riders are encouraged to check with Regina Transit for bus stop and route changes.
The City of Regina is making progress on resident’s priorities by investing $16.8 million for Street Infrastructure Renewal through the 2021 construction program. This program is primarily focused on improving major roads such as expressways, arterial and collector category roads.
The health and safety of our employees, crews and community are top priority for the City of Regina. We are working closely with contractors and crews to ensure pandemic protocols are in place so work can be carried out in a safe and timely fashion.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you. Visit the Road Report for other traffic restrictions.
