Artwork in Progress at Albert Street Bridge Tunnel Please Respect Barricades
Residents are asked not to move or tamper with safety barricades at the Albert Street Bridge tunnel as local artists create new visuals inside the underground passageway.
The work has been commissioned by the Cathedral Village Arts Festival in partnership with the City of Regina, Provincial Capital Commission and Cathedral Area Community Association. It is designed to transform the space from a site of frequent graffiti into a notable destination featuring public art.
Throughout the project, barricades will be in place for the safety of the artists and the public and to enable the work itself, which will consist of both spray painting and using brushes to complete the murals. The tunnel may not be fully accessible at times.
The work is expected to be ongoing until early August.
