City Celebrates Pride Month with City Hall Flag Display
To celebrate Pride month, and in support of Queen City Pride’s Hybrid Pride Festival, City Hall is showing its pride in a big, new way. The colourful display filling many of the windows on the south side of the City Hall tower creates what could be considered Regina’s largest rainbow flag.
“Celebrating Pride in our community is what helps make our city vibrant and inclusive,” said Mayor Sandra Masters. “We all want a community where 2SLGBTQIA+ friends and family members can feel safe, accepted and celebrated.”
The City has entered the Queen City Pride’s “Pride up your Place” Decorating Contest in hopes of showing support to and celebrating the gender and sexually diverse community.
In addition to the six-storey rainbow now proudly on display, the City has also raised a Pride flag on the City Hall courtyard.
