City Invites Residents to Be Heard in Pre-Budget Planning
As we prepare the 2022 Budget, the City of Regina wants to hear what budget priorities and expectations residents have for the year ahead.
Our annual pre-budget consultation launches today on Be Heard Regina and seeks to identify what residents feel is most important to them. Residents’ feedback will help guide decisions about the City’s spending in 2022.
The City provides more than 60 types of services that residents use every day to live, move, connect and grow in our community. Budget planning involves looking for efficiencies and ways to reduce spending, while prioritizing services and programs that are reliable and affordable. A budget plan ensures the City makes strategic capital investments in roads, public safety, facilities, and recreation and culture that will support Regina’s current needs and long-term growth.
The City’s General Fund has an annual operating and capital budget of approximately $613 million, more than half of which is funded through property taxes.
Visit Regina.ca/budget22 to participate in the pre-budget consultation before July 28, 2021.
