City Seeks Resident Input on Indoor Multi-Purpose Event Centre Recommendation
Regina residents are being invited to share feedback on the prospect of constructing a new indoor multi-purpose event centre. Regina residents can participate in an online survey. In addition, randomly selected residents will be surveyed for a scientific poll.
In response to a City Council motion on March 1, the City is partnering with Forum Research to conduct market research and an online survey, intended to determine the level of support for constructing an indoor multi-purpose event centre and locating it downtown. The research and survey results will be provided to Council at its meeting on March 22, 2023, at which time deliberations regarding the Catalyst Committee’s recommendations will continue.
Market research will begin this evening and will be conducted by phone. A total of 1,000 randomly selected residents will participate in a scientifically valid survey. This is considered a statistically valid sample size for cities of all sizes. Participants will be equally distributed among all 10 Regina wards.
Forum Research will be calling random residents beginning Thursday, March 9 at 5 p.m., continuing through Sunday evening March 19, 2023. Residents who receive calls from Forum Research on behalf of the City of Regina are encouraged to consider participating.
The online survey, available to all Regina residents, can be found at Regina.ca/survey beginning March 9, 2023 at 5 p.m. The online survey closes on March 19, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
Results from both surveys will supplement previously collected public engagement results and will provide Council with additional insight into public perception regarding a new multi-use downtown event centre. Decisions related to this future of this facility, and other Catalyst Committee recommendations, will be made by Council.
