City launches new and improved website
The City of Regina is pleased to announce the launch of the new Regina.ca and invites citizens to explore the site. The new website features a modern design, improved navigation and functionality, and is easier to use on all devices.
“The new Regina.ca was developed with citizens and for citizens,” says Mayor Michael Fougere. “The City consulted with residents on the design of the site to create a user-friendly experience. It is now easier than ever to access up-to-date information about the City, and the programs and services we offer. This is part of our continued commitment to open and transparent government.”
Notable features include:
• Simplified menu and improved search functionality.
• Digital transit schedules that make it easier to check what time the next bus will arrive and to view routes in reverse.
• Service notifications to quickly see water, transit, and parks and recreation updates that may affect commutes or recreation plans.
The new Regina.ca lays the foundation for future enhancements to online services for residents. A service request app will soon be introduced allowing users to submit a request, pin a location and attach photos whenever they see something requiring City maintenance. A new public engagement tool is also in the works which will greatly enhance the City’s ability to collect feedback from residents in mobile-friendly ways.
The site was designed with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0), making it more accessible for people of all abilities.
This $1.2 million project represents a major investment to improve citizens’ experience when accessing information online. The new Regina.ca replaces the City’s previous website, which was designed in 2008.
