City of Regina Offering Winter Initiatives Grant to Support Building a Winter City
Building on last year’s grant funding towards winter activities, the City of Regina has developed a Winter Initiatives Grant to support Regina’s newly approved Winter City Strategy. This grant aims to enhance Regina’s surroundings while ensuring community inclusion and accessibility is considered even in the coldest months of the year.
“We encourage Regina’s local businesses and non-profits to get creative, and help us make Regina THE destination for winter,” said Diana Hawryluk, Executive Director, City Planning & Community Development. She noted that the Winter Initiatives Grant can support a wide variety of projects and activities, which could include community events, lighting installations or decorating competitions.
The City is committed to offering up to $50,000 in funding for initiatives that help realize Regina’s winter vision. A key requirement of the grant is that the funds be used for initiatives happening between December 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022. Requests for funding can range from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $5,000.
Community organizations, businesses and residents wanting to get in on the fun and make Regina great this winter are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted until October 15, 2021.
