City to Light the Lights for the Winter Season
Bundle up with your family and friends for the annual Light the Lights outdoor celebration in front of City Hall on Tuesday, December 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Join City Council as we light up City Hall and the Queen Elizabeth II Courtyard for the season.
Light the Lights is a free family-friendly event that showcases Regina as a Winter City. Enjoy fun winter activities including horse-drawn wagon rides, interactive ice creations, outdoor activities and games, local entertainment, free hot chocolate and treats, a virtual coloring contest and, of course, a visit from Santa.
This year, we are excited to showcase a variety of local musicians, performers and activities that reflect our diverse community, and the many ways residents welcome winter. Scheduled to perform and host activities are: Balfour Arts Collective, Dickens Yuletide Singers, Growing Young Movers, Kung Fu Regina, Knox Metropolitan Church Bell Ringers, Regina Filipino Canadian Children's Choir, Saskatchewan Winter Games, South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra, Tavria School of Ukrainan Dance, Val Halla and more!
Children ages 12 and under are invited to participate in our “virtual” colouring contest in the spirit of the holiday season. Participants can download the colouring sheet online and enter to win a prize draw. The contest closes Tuesday, December 13.
To accommodate the event activities, streets adjacent to City Hall will be limited to one lane with limited/restricted parking from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.:
- Smith Street and McIntyre Street, between Victoria Avenue and 12th Avenue
