Downtown Construction Projects Close to Completion for 2019
The cleanup of two major projects in Regina’s downtown is taking place on Victoria Avenue - in time for visitors to arrive for Hockey Week and the NHL Heritage Classic.
The two-year Victoria Avenue Beautification project is nearing the end of phase one which includes work between Albert Street and Cornwall Street. With the temperatures starting to dip, some work, such as paving between Smith Street and Albert Street, will take place during the 2020 construction season in alignment with phase two of the project, which will see upgrades between Cornwall Street and Broad Street. Before the project is considered wrapped up for 2019, crews will complete the installation of traffic signals, street lights, and parking metres, as well as ensure the roadway is safe and drivable for the winter.
Additionally, the work to backfill the site at 1971 Albert Street is now finished and sidewalks are complete and open for pedestrians. Final cleanup of the site and installation of fencing will occur over the next week to ensure public safety. A fulsome project update will be delivered in the near future.

Thanks to everyone for their patience as the City completed this important work in the downtown.
