Elphinstone Street – Avonhurst Drive to Mowat Place/Avonhurst Drive – Elphinstone Street
A contractor is completing sewer relining work on behalf of the City of Regina. This project uses a technique that seals a new liner inside the current sewer main to restore the pipe without replacement. As this method is much less invasive than the tradition trenching method, it is more cost-effective and saves on road renewal.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, drivers may want to consider alternate routes as crews complete preparation work. Traffic will be restricted at the intersection of Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street for two days. Local traffic will be permitted and detours will be in place.
The intersection will be open on Saturday, November 16.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, crews will reline the sewer. To do this work, the intersection of Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street will be closed for one day. Local traffic will be permitted and detours will be in place.
This project is dependent on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Other locations where work will be taking place include Pasqua Street – Parliament Avenue. The City will share traffic restriction details prior to the start date of each location.
Transit routes will be affected. Riders are encouraged to check with Regina Transit for bus stop and route changes.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
