Landfill taking proactive measures due to severe weather
Environment Canada has ended the wind warning for Regina, so the Landfill is reopening to the public. To continue to ensure public and employee safety, the Landfill will be temporarily reducing the size of the tipping area to control the amount of airborne litter and debris. This may result in customer delays.
Due to the high winds, residents are encouraged to visit the Landfill and Yard Waste Depot when conditions are more favourable.
If wind speeds are measured at 65 km/h or wind gusts equal or exceed 90 km/h, the Landfill will close operations and not accept waste until the weather passes.
