Make Memories, Not Waste This Holiday Season
The holiday season brings tradition and celebration, but it also means more waste being sent to the landfill. This year, the City encourages residents to make memories, not waste.
There are many ways residents can reduce their environmental impact over the holidays. Giving the gift of an experience is priceless – like a family photo session or a subscription to an online streaming service.
Follow our Holiday Recycling Checklist so you can properly sort “naughty” and “nice” recycling items. Be sure to check it twice before your holiday clean up!
- Non-foil wrapping paper
- Paper cards and envelopes
- Gift bags (if paper)
- Cardboard boxes
- Metal cookie tins
- Foil wrapping paper
- Tissue paper
- Padded envelopes
- Ribbon and bows
- Styrofoam packaging
Please flatten carboard boxes so you can fit more recyclables in your blue cart or take excess recyclable material to the Big Blue Bins. Remember that cart lids need to close so that recyclables can be collected and litter is prevented.
