May Household Hazardous Waste Days
The next free Household Hazardous Waste Days are taking place this weekend at the Public Works Yard, 2400 6th Avenue. An additional day has been added to the May event to meet demand and reduce wait times.
Dates and Times:
- Friday, May 27, 4 – 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 28, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Sunday, May 29, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (NEW)
Accepted Items:
Chemicals, fertilizers, aerosols, batteries, light bulbs, propane tanks and more.
Before you go:
- Material not in an original container must be clearly labelled to identify contents.
- All containers must be safely sealed.
- Put hazardous waste in the box of your truck or trunks, not in the backseat.
- Bring fuel and oil in containers that may be left behind for recycling/disposal.
- Commercial loads are not permitted.
- Do not attend the event if you are not feeling well.
Household Hazardous Waste days help to keep hazardous material out of our landfill and waterways. It’s worth the effort to protect our environment for future generations.
