McCarthy Boulevard – Dewdney Avenue to Brunskill Place
Starting at 7 a.m., Thursday, June 16 the second and final year of the major infrastructure improvement project along McCarthy Boulevard continues. Work will take place between Dewdney Avenue and Brunskill Place to resurface the roadway for a smoother commute, as well as improve sidewalks and pathway connections to enhance pedestrian safety and accommodate multi-use pathway users. This year’s investment is $1.1 million.
Work will be completed in two phases, starting with concrete and paving work in the northbound lanes. Single-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained during phase one. Delays are expected, so drivers may want to consider alternative routes. Phase one is anticipated to be completed in four weeks, weather dependent.
The City will advise residents of phase two restrictions as the work progresses. Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of August, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.
The McCarthy Infrastructure Improvement Project is a two-year major project along McCarthy Boulevard between Dewdney Avenue and 4th Avenue which combines sewer renewal, bridge rehabilitation and road renewal work. The total project investment is $7.3 million.
