Mosquito Control starting May 11
The City of Regina is working to ensure that residents can enjoy our warm summer days. City crews will be starting the mosquito control program on Monday, May 11.
As a result of COVID-19 program reductions, the City planned to monitor for mosquito species and volumes for indication of required treatment before moving forward with treatment. Monitoring has indicated that treatment will be required in 2020, and we will now move forward with providing a nuisance control mosquito program within the City.
The City of Regina will be taking preventative action by treating bodies of water in areas across the city. Mosquito larvae can be found in standing bodies of water. By applying an organic product called Vectobac™ directly to the water, it will prevent mosquitoes from multiplying. It’s safe for birds and aquatic life.
The City takes bugs seriously, and so should you. Visit Regina.ca/mosquito to find out what you can do to prevent mosquitoes from breeding in your backyard.
