Neighbourhood Plan to Advance Railyard Renewal
The City will unveil the proposed Neighbourhood Plan for revitalization of the Railyard
site and surrounding area along Dewdney Avenue at an open house on November 6,
2019 at City Hall.
The proposed Yards Neighbourhood Plan is a policy document, created in consultation
with residents and stakeholders, that will move the next phase of the Regina
Revitalization Initiative forward. The proposed Plan provides direction for transformation
of the former railyard area into a vibrant, unique, and active neighbourhood that will
connect Regina’s city centre and enhance the city as a whole.
The open house is an opportunity for the public to review the proposed Plan and the
policies that will guide redevelopment of the Railyard site. These policies include
consideration of land use, transportation networks, and the type and size of buildings
that may be constructed in the neighbourhood.
The proposed Yards Neighbourhood Plan includes the area bordered by Dewdney
Avenue and the railway corridor to the north and south; Broad Street and Albert Street to
the east and west.
The Yards Neighbourhood Plan Open House will be from 5 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at
City Hall. Refreshments and children’s activities will be available.
